Terms of Service

1. About the Service

BizInvoicer is a cloud-based invoicing and quoting tool designed for Australian tradespeople and small businesses. It allows you to create, manage, send, and track invoices and quotes.

BizInvoicer is a software tool, not an accounting service. We do not provide tax advice, financial advice, or accounting services. You should consult a qualified accountant or tax professional for advice on GST, BAS lodgement, and tax compliance.

2. Your Account

• You must provide a valid email address to create an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your password
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
• You must be at least 18 years old to use BizInvoicer
• One account per business is intended - creating multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits is not permitted

3. Your Data

You own your data. All business information, client details, invoices, and quotes you create belong to you. We host and process this data on your behalf to provide the service.

You can export your data at any time using the CSV export feature or by downloading individual invoice/quote PDFs.

You are responsible for maintaining your own records as required by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). BizInvoicer provides tools to help you create and manage invoices, but the legal obligation to keep accurate business records for the required period (generally 5 years) rests with you.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use BizInvoicer for any unlawful purpose
• Create fraudulent invoices or misrepresent your business
• Attempt to access other users' data or interfere with the service
• Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the service
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code

5. Service Availability

We aim to provide BizInvoicer with high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We will endeavour to provide notice of planned downtime where possible.

6. Limitation of Liability

BizInvoicer is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law:

• We are not liable for any errors in invoice calculations, GST amounts, or financial figures - you are responsible for verifying the accuracy of your invoices before sending them
• We are not liable for any loss of data, revenue, or business opportunity arising from the use of or inability to use the service
• We are not liable for any tax penalties, fines, or legal consequences resulting from invoices created using BizInvoicer
• Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim (or $0 if using the free tier)

7. Account Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or engage in abusive behaviour. Upon termination, your data will be retained for 30 days to allow for export, then permanently deleted.

Inactive accounts: if your account has no active subscription and has not been signed into for 12 months, we may delete it and its associated data. Before doing so, we will email you at least one reminder and give you an opportunity to sign in or export your data.

8. Subscription, Billing & Refunds

Free trial: new accounts include a 30-day free trial with no payment or card details required. You can use BizInvoicer fully during the trial.

Pricing: after the trial, continued creation of invoices and quotes requires a paid subscription: $9.90 per month, or $99.00 per year (all prices in Australian dollars). We may change pricing in future; existing subscribers keep their current price for as long as their subscription remains continuously active, and any change is notified in advance.

Automatic renewal: paid subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly), and your nominated payment method is charged, until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorise these recurring charges.

Cancelling: you can cancel at any time from Settings → Manage subscription, or by contacting us. When you cancel, your subscription stops renewing and you keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Refunds: because we provide a 30-day free trial before any payment is taken, we do not provide refunds for change of mind or for partial (unused) billing periods. Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law: if the service is faulty, is not as described, or otherwise fails a consumer guarantee and we are unable to resolve it, you may be entitled to a remedy, which may include a refund.

Payments: payments are securely processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or email. Continued use of BizInvoicer after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms or the use of BizInvoicer will be resolved in the courts of Australia.
